ENGWE Unveils Concept for High-Performance, Dual-Motor Electric Scooter

Electric vehicles continue to push boundaries and expand across different modes of personal transportation. ENGWE, a brand renowned for its electric bikes, is teasing the transition into a new domain with an electric scooter that promises to stand out in the market due to its unique specifications and capabilities.

ENGWE’s current project involves engaging with its customer base to gain insights and preferences that will influence the design of its potential new offering. A particularly intriguing feature of the mentioned scooter is the dual-motor setup. This design choice is not typical for electric scooters and suggests that the new model could offer robust performance, possibly even catering to off-road adventures alongside the usual urban commute.

The company has alluded to the possibility of the scooter being equipped with an impressive 60V 20.8Ah battery. This large battery could deliver an exceptional range, with estimates suggesting up to 75 kilometers on a single charge, which is roughly 47 miles. For those concerned with speed, the scooter may be capable of reaching speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour, equivalent to 31 mph. Though, the actual acceptable speed limit could differ based on regulation in various regions.

In terms of design, ENGWE is considering an ‘extreme’ wide-deck design, coupled with full suspension, which is typically seen on high-end scooters. Another notable feature might be the inclusion of a large display for easy monitoring of the scooter’s performance and status, paired with the convenience of a wireless unlocking mechanism. The anticipated torque of 28 newton-meters could provide the scooter with enough power to climb inclines as steep as 20°, making it a versatile choice for diverse terrain.

Although the release date for this high-end ENGWE scooter is not yet finalized, it signals ambitious plans for the future of personal electric transportation. The pricing model, which the company has indicated could range from $699 to $1,399, also awaits confirmation following the outcome of their customer engagement surveys.

As ENGWE explores this new venture, potential customers and personal electric vehicle enthusiasts have an opportunity to shape the development of a scooter that aims to redefine expectations in terms of range, speed, and dual-motor efficiency for the modern electric vehicle market.
