Engwe has just unveiled its latest innovation, the M1 Dual Passenger Motorcycle-style E-bike, captivating cycling enthusiasts in Europe. This all-terrain e-bike is available in two versions. The European model sports a single battery that offers an impressive range of up to 90 km (approximately 56 miles), while the International variant boasts dual batteries with a hefty 1,373Wh capacity, promising a range of up to 170 km (106 miles). Intriguingly, promotional materials hint at an even more generous assistance range of 230 km (about 143 miles), although the specifics behind this calculation remain a mystery.
Both e-bike variants are equipped with a robust 250W 65Nm hub motor, designed to reach speeds of 25 kph (roughly 16 mph), making them ideal companions for diverse terrains. The ride quality is enhanced by front and rear suspension and sturdy 20 x 4.0-inch fat tires, ensuring that riders can tackle various surfaces with ease and comfort.
Riders can keep track of their journey with a sleek LCD color display that provides real-time speed and battery information. Beyond that, the bike features Shimano gears and reliable 160mm hydraulic disc brakes for smooth and secure braking. A dual-seat design allows for shared adventures, complemented by practical accessories such as a headlight, rear light, and turn signals, making it a well-rounded package for any e-bike enthusiast.
Constructed with a 6061 aluminum frame, the M1 is available in two weights: 39.5 kg (about 87.1 lbs) for the single battery version, and 43.0 kg (around 94.8 lbs) for the dual battery option. Presently, these eye-catching e-bikes are being sold through Engwe’s European online store at enticing prices. The Single Battery model is available for €1,049, down from its original price of €1,299, while the Dual Battery version can be purchased for €1,249, reflecting a discount from its initial €1,499 price tag. Prospective buyers can choose between striking yellow or classic black frames.
While the M1 is making waves in the European market, it remains uncertain when or if this e-bike will make its way to other parts of the globe, leaving international enthusiasts eagerly waiting for an announcement.
