EndeavourOS 2026.03.06 Arrives with a Smarter Installer and Linux Kernel 6.19.6

EndeavourOS is back with a fresh update aimed at delivering an even smoother Arch-based Linux experience. The new release, EndeavourOS 2026.03.06, is codenamed Titan—named after the second-largest moon in our solar system—and it brings a curated set of upgrades that focus on performance, hardware support, and a more polished installation process.

At the core of EndeavourOS Titan is the Linux 6.19.6.arch1-1 kernel, used both in the live environment and the offline installer. For users who want a modern desktop out of the box, this release also ships with KDE Plasma 6.6, giving the ISO a contemporary feel while staying true to EndeavourOS’s lightweight, minimal-by-default approach.

One of the biggest improvements in this version is the updated installer stack. Titan includes Calamares 26.03.1.3-1, and the installation workflow has been refined with better hardware detection across the board. That includes improved detection for all GPUs and virtual machines, helping installations go more smoothly on a wider range of systems—from gaming rigs to laptops to VM test environments.

Driver handling also gets a meaningful upgrade. During installation, the system can now include additional drivers along with Vulkan drivers and the packages required for hardware acceleration when they apply to your hardware. This is particularly helpful for users who want graphics acceleration working sooner, without manually hunting down dependencies after the first boot.

Another notable addition is eos-hwtool. While it’s used by the installer, it’s also available for everyday users, making it easier to install or remove GPU drivers later if your setup changes or you need to troubleshoot graphics issues.

EndeavourOS 2026.03.06 Titan also updates key components that many users care about daily. Firefox is included at version 148.0-1, while the graphics stack is refreshed with Mesa 26.0.1-1. For systems using Xorg, the release includes xorg-server 21.1.21-1. Nvidia users aren’t left behind either, with nvidia-utils updated to 590.48.01-4.

On the usability side, mirror ranking support has been improved as well. Better mirror selection can translate into faster downloads and more reliable updates—small changes that make a big difference in day-to-day system maintenance on an Arch-based distribution.

If you’re already running EndeavourOS, the good news is that you can update to Titan without reinstalling. For new installations, there is one practical change to note: the ISO has grown from about 3 GB to 3.4 GB to accommodate the newer features and expanded capabilities. Even so, the project continues to emphasize a clean, bloat-free experience, staying focused on essentials and letting users choose what to add.

Overall, EndeavourOS 2026.03.06 Titan is a targeted, modern refresh that improves installation reliability, strengthens GPU and VM support, and updates the core system components many Linux users rely on—while keeping the fast, minimal Arch-based identity that EndeavourOS is known for.
