Edifier is expanding its headphone lineup with the WH950NB Gen 2, a refreshed version of its over-ear wireless headphones designed for everyday listening, commuting, and work. With a focus on high-quality audio, stronger connectivity features, and a battery that’s built to last, these new headphones aim to compete with other popular noise-cancelling models in the same price range.
The WH950NB Gen 2 uses 40mm drivers with a titanium coating, a design Edifier says helps deliver powerful sound while keeping the tuning balanced. For listeners who care about better wireless audio, the big headline is support for LDAC. This codec is known for enabling low-loss or near-lossless Bluetooth audio transmission on compatible devices, helping preserve more detail compared to standard Bluetooth audio—especially useful if you stream high-quality tracks or keep a lossless library on your phone.
Setup should also be quick and hassle-free thanks to Google Fast Pair support, which is meant to simplify pairing with Android devices. Edifier also includes Bluetooth multipoint, allowing the headphones to stay connected to two devices at the same time. That’s a practical upgrade for anyone who switches between a laptop and a phone throughout the day and wants to avoid constantly disconnecting and reconnecting.
Active noise cancellation is included to reduce background distractions, and the ANC strength can be adjusted across multiple levels, making it easier to tailor noise reduction to different environments like offices, public transport, or quieter spaces where full cancellation might feel unnecessary.
Battery life is another major selling point. Edifier rates the WH950NB Gen 2 for up to 80 hours of playback with ANC turned off. With ANC enabled, the maximum drops to around 45 hours, which is still strong for a pair of wireless ANC over-ear headphones. Fast charging is also part of the package: a 15-minute charge is claimed to deliver up to 13 hours of listening time, which is ideal if you forget to charge overnight and need a quick top-up before heading out.
On-device controls are handled through built-in buttons for common functions like volume and playback, while deeper customization and additional settings can be managed through a companion app.
Edifier has positioned the WH950NB Gen 2 with an official list price of $199.99, and it’s currently being offered at a lower launch price in some regions and retailers. Availability and discounts can vary, so pricing may shift after the initial release window.
