Dyson’s first wet-dry robot vacuum has arrived, and it’s more than a simple upgrade. Unveiled at IFA Berlin, the Spot+ Scrub Ai brings true mopping to Dyson’s robovac lineup while leaning hard into the brand’s hallmark engineering: smart, adaptive cleaning, a self-washing roller, and a bagless, cyclonic dock that keeps maintenance to a minimum.
The headline feature is an AI-driven stain detection system. A green LED teams up with an AI camera to analyze spots on your floor and estimate how many passes are needed to remove them. After each pass, the robot checks its work visually and will keep scrubbing—up to 15 passes—until the stain is gone. It’s the kind of methodical approach a person would take, now automated and scaled for your entire home.
Navigation gets a serious intelligence boost, too. The Spot+ Scrub Ai can recognize up to 200 common household objects to smoothly avoid obstacles while maximizing coverage. When it detects carpet, it automatically increases suction up to four times compared to hard floors, so you get deeper cleaning where you need it most.
Mopping is where many robot vacuums stumble, often leaving streaks as dirty rollers drag across the floor. Dyson tackles that head-on with a self-cleaning wet roller powered by a 12-point hydration system. The roller is continuously washed with fresh water on every rotation, so it’s always cleaning with a clean surface rather than redistributing grime. The roller mechanism can also extend by about 1.6 inches to reach along edges and into corners that tend to collect dust and debris but are hard to access.
The base station is just as ambitious. Instead of a basic charging dock, Dyson’s cyclonic system uses centrifugal forces to separate dust without disposable bags. The dock automatically empties the vacuum, refills its water tank, and even washes and dries the wet scrubber, reducing hands-on upkeep and keeping odors in check.
Control and scheduling run through the MyDyson app, where you can adjust settings, set no-go zones, and view cleaning reports.
Dyson hasn’t announced pricing yet. For context, its previous robot, the 360 Vis Nav, launched at around $1,200 and later dropped to roughly $499 at many retailers. Expect the Spot+ Scrub Ai to land in premium territory given the expanded feature set.
Why it matters: This model fills a key gap in Dyson’s lineup by marrying high-suction vacuuming with a true, self-maintaining mop system and smarter object recognition. If you’ve been waiting for a single robot to handle everyday dirt, stubborn stains, and edge cleaning without constant intervention, the Spot+ Scrub Ai looks designed to do exactly that.
