Dynabook has refreshed its premium business laptop lineup with the new Portege Z40L-P, a lightweight 14-inch notebook built around Intel’s latest Panther Lake processors. Designed for professionals, enterprise users, and productivity-focused buyers, the new model brings stronger performance, upgraded integrated graphics, and a long list of business-friendly features.
The Dynabook Portege Z40L-P can be configured with Intel Core Ultra X7 and Core Ultra X9 processors, including options with up to 16 CPU cores. These chips are expected to use a hybrid layout with four performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and four low-power cores, giving the laptop a strong balance between speed and battery efficiency.
One of the biggest upgrades is the integrated graphics. The higher-end configurations are paired with Intel Arc B390 graphics featuring 12 Xe3 cores. That makes the Portege Z40L-P more capable than a typical office laptop, especially for users who need extra GPU power for light creative work, multitasking, media editing, and casual gaming. While this is still a business-focused machine, the new graphics hardware should make it much more versatile than previous generations.
The laptop features a 14-inch WUXGA display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Dynabook has also included several features aimed at enterprise and security-focused buyers. The Portege Z40L-P comes with an IR camera, a physical privacy shutter, fingerprint and facial recognition support, dTPM 2.0, and MIL-STD-810H durability certification. Audio features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos certification and a dual-microphone setup for video calls and online meetings.
Another notable feature is the 56 Wh Li-Po battery, which is user-accessible and swappable. That is becoming increasingly rare in modern thin-and-light laptops and could make the device more appealing for companies that value easier maintenance and longer service life.
The Dynabook Portege Z40L-P is expected to start at $2,170. Full configuration details for the base model have not yet been confirmed, but the pricing makes it clear that this is a premium business laptop aimed at professionals and organizations that prioritize reliability, security, portability, and strong performance.
