Dynabook is refreshing its laptop lineup in Japan with a new wave of lightweight models built for portability, productivity, and easier long-term maintenance. The company is preparing to launch nine new laptops in August, led by Copilot+ PC models powered by Intel Panther Lake processors.
The standout feature across several of the new Dynabook laptops is a user-replaceable battery design. Instead of forcing owners to rely on service centers for a battery swap, Dynabook has added a sliding cover on the underside of select models, making it easier for users to replace the battery themselves. For students, business travelers, and remote workers, that could make these machines more practical over years of use.
At the top of the lineup are the Dynabook XP9 and XP7, slim 14-inch laptops designed for people who want a larger screen without carrying extra weight. These models weigh just 999 grams, making them light enough for daily commuting or frequent travel. Dynabook claims up to 15.5 hours of video playback, which should be enough for a full workday depending on usage.
The XP9 and XP7 also include modern connectivity options such as Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, and HDMI. That mix should appeal to users who still rely on traditional accessories while also needing fast data transfer and external display support.
For those who prefer something even more compact, Dynabook is introducing the X9 and X7. These 13.3-inch laptops also feature user-replaceable batteries and Thunderbolt 4 support, while using Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Despite the smaller footprint, battery life is rated slightly higher, with up to 17 hours of video playback. The X9 and X7 weigh 948 grams, making them strong options for anyone who prioritizes mobility.
Dynabook is also adding the G9, another 13.3-inch model that pushes portability even further. At only 899 grams, it is the lightest laptop in the new lineup. This makes it especially appealing for users who want an ultra-light notebook for office tasks, browsing, writing, meetings, and travel.
Beyond the compact Copilot+ PC models, Dynabook is also launching larger laptops for users who need more traditional features. The 16-inch T9, T7, T6, and T5 models come with optical drives, which are becoming rare in modern laptops but remain useful for businesses, schools, and users with disc-based media or software. The C7 and C6 will also join the lineup.
All of the new models are designed with the same user-replaceable battery approach and include Dolby Atmos audio support. However, only the T9 among the larger models gets a Panther Lake processor. The remaining models use Intel Core Series 1 Raptor Lake processors.
The new Dynabook laptops are scheduled to go on sale in Japan starting August 7. For now, the company has not confirmed whether these models will be released in other markets.
