With up to 96 cores, this powerhouse lineup was unveiled at Computex, promising incredible performance for various applications, particularly those in the rapidly growing AI sector.
The latest Ryzen Threadripper series, comprising both PRO and non-PRO models, offers tailored solutions for different computing needs. The PRO models, designed for elite workstations, offer a range of configurations, while the non-PRO versions cater to standard workstations, DIY setups, and high-end desktop segments.
The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX-Series features six variants, the flagship being the 9995WX with a staggering 96 cores and 192 threads. It boasts a boost clock speed of up to 5.45 GHz and comes with 384 MB of L3 cache and 128 PCIe Gen5 lanes. These processors support 8-channel DDR5-6400 memory in ECC configurations, setting a new standard for workstation computing.
On the other hand, the standard Ryzen Threadripper 9000 lineup includes three models, with the top-end 9980X featuring 64 cores and 128 threads. It matches its PRO counterpart in clock speeds, housing 256 MB of L3 cache and offering 4-channel DDR5-6400 memory support. Each of these CPUs operates with a TDP of 350W and includes enhanced AVX-512 instruction support for superior data processing.
The sophisticated chip architecture of these processors is worth noting. The PRO series features 12 CCDs and a central IO die, providing a compact but powerful design.
