ASUS has some exciting news on the horizon with the listing of their next-gen Z890 motherboards for Intel’s Arrow Lake “Core Ultra Series 2” CPUs by a US-based retailer. This lineup includes a diverse range of models: the ROG Maximus, Strix, ProArt, Prime, TUF, and a new entrant—’Max’ series.
The retailer HSSL has revealed as many as ten Z890 motherboard models along with their indicative pricing. While these prices may not be set in stone, they offer a good ballpark figure for what consumers can expect.
Thanks to a tip from @momomo_us, we’ve got a snapshot of these listings. Some motherboard images are missing, and in a few cases, the images provided (like the one for ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-I Gaming WiFi) don’t match the listed product, showing a regular ATX form factor instead. The images that do appear are actually for older X870E/X870 models.
Here’s the rundown of the listed motherboards and their prices:
– ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme: $1111.87
– ROG Maximus Z890 Apex: $812.29
– ROG Maximus Z890 Hero: $780.66
– ROG Strix Z890-E Gaming WiFi: $558.94
– ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi: $548.23
– ROG Strix Z890-I Gaming WiFi: $502.37
– ROG Strix Z890-A Gaming WiFi: $445.04
– TUF Gaming Z890-Plus WiFi: $356.81
– Prime Z890-P WiFi: $281.34
– ASUS Z890 MAX Gaming WiFi-GSI only: $268.28
Notably, a fresh addition to the ASUS lineup is the ‘MAX Gaming WiFi’, which is the most budget-friendly option in this series. It seems poised to compete with similarly priced models from other manufacturers like MSI’s Gaming Plus.
Taking a closer look at the prices, the high-end ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme is positioned as the flagship model at around $1111.87. Translated without VAT, that’s approximately US$950-$1000. Other models in the ROG Maximus line also sit within the higher price brackets, roughly translating to around US$700 without VAT.
The ProArt and ROG Strix Z890-I Gaming WiFi motherboards fall into a mid-range category, priced at about $530-$580 with VAT, or $440-$485 without VAT. For those seeking more affordable solutions, the TUF, Prime, and MAX Gaming Z890 motherboards are priced below $300, with the ASUS Z890 MAX Gaming WiFi being the lowest at approximately $240 without VAT.
ASUS recently gave a sneak peek into some of these motherboards through a short teaser video labeled “Intel Next-Gen Motherboards.” From the footage, it’s clear that at least three ROG Maximus models will be part of the new lineup, affirming the retailer’s listings. The launch of these motherboards is expected to coincide with the release of Intel’s Arrow Lake processors on October 24th.
