ASUS is gearing up for an exciting launch event slated for October 10th, coinciding with the debut of Intel’s cutting-edge Arrow Lake CPUs. The tech world is buzzing as ASUS prepares to unveil its next-generation Z890 motherboards.
About a week and a half ago, ASUS ROG tantalized fans with a teaser video across various social media platforms, hinting at the impressive capabilities of their ‘Intel Next-Gen’ motherboards. The countdown to their official reveal is on, with October 10th circled on everyone’s calendar.
ASUS is building anticipation with the promise of a new era in gaming and technology innovation. The Intel Z890 chipset motherboards, featuring the new LGA 1851 socket, are designed to be compatible with Arrow Lake CPUs, setting the stage for top-tier performance enhancements.
From sneak peeks, it appears that we can expect around eight different Z890 motherboards from ASUS, spanning a variety of series. These include the ever-popular ASUS Prime and several high-performance models under the ROG Strix and ROG Maximus lines. While specific model names remain under wraps, a retail listing has already leaked several upcoming Z890 ASUS motherboards.
Among these, the flagship ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme stands out, having already appeared on a retail site for a price of $1,111.87. The Maximus lineup will also feature the Z890 Hero and Z890 Apex editions, known for their premium builds. Following these elite editions, ASUS will offer choices from the ROG Strix E and F series, the Creator ProArt series, the durable TUF series, and the more affordable Prime series.
These Z890 motherboards will enable overclocking capabilities for Intel’s unlocked Arrow Lake CPUs, including the Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K/KF, and Core Ultra 5 245K/KF models. While detailed specs of the motherboards remain scant, it is confirmed they will feature the LGA 1851 socket, compatible with existing LGA 1700 CPU coolers.
Intriguingly, the hot spot for the Arrow Lake “LGA 1851” Desktop CPUs has been shifted to the north, suggesting potential improvements in thermal performance. As the launch date approaches, enthusiasts are eager to discover the performance leaps that Intel’s Arrow Lake processors will bring, as well as the innovative features that ASUS’s Z890 motherboards will offer straight out of the box.
