Dispatch Responds to Switch Censorship Concerns in New “HR Violations” Update

DISPATCH Update Adds New Censorship Options on Switch, Steam, and PS5

AdHoc Studio has rolled out a free new update for DISPATCH, giving players more control over how the superhero comedy game handles mature content. The update, titled HR Violations, focuses on visual filters and censorship settings, with the biggest changes aimed at Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players.

When DISPATCH first arrived on Nintendo’s hybrid systems, certain adult visuals were covered, while the PC and PlayStation 5 versions launched without censorship in most regions. With this new update, Switch and Switch 2 players now have access to a Partial Coverage option by default in supported regions, allowing more of the game’s edgy humor and visuals to appear on screen.

Under Partial Coverage, content such as butts, breasts, and middle fingers will no longer be hidden. However, full genital nudity will remain censored, and the audio from Invisigal’s erotic dream sequence will still be muted. According to the update details, these remaining restrictions are tied to Nintendo platform requirements.

Players who prefer a more restricted experience can still choose Full Coverage, which censors all explicit visual and audio content. The update also introduces multiple censorship styles, giving players a humorous way to customize how covered content appears in-game.

The Mosaic option, which is the default style, uses a pixelated censor effect. Chaotic mode takes a more comedic approach by covering explicit content with random items, including jorts. Blackout remains available as the traditional full-cover censorship style for players who want the most straightforward option.

Regional availability varies depending on platform and location. On Switch and Switch 2, players in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand can choose between Partial Coverage and Full Coverage. In Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, and Southeast Asia, Full Coverage is the only available coverage setting.

Censorship style options also differ by region. Players in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, and Southeast Asia can choose between Mosaic, Chaotic, and Blackout. In Japan, only the Blackout censorship style is available.

Steam and PlayStation 5 players also receive the new filter options through the update, even though those versions remain uncensored by default in most regions. This means PC and PS5 players can now voluntarily enable censorship if they want a different or more comedic presentation. In Japan, the default setting on Steam and PS5 is Full Coverage with the Blackout style. In all other regions, the default remains fully uncensored.

Xbox players are expected to receive access to these censorship settings when DISPATCH launches on Xbox later this summer.

To access the new options on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, players need to download the update through the DLC menu in the Nintendo eShop. After installation, the new coverage and censorship style settings can be found in the game menu under General Settings, then Filters.

On Steam and PlayStation 5, players simply need to update the game. Once updated, the same filter options will appear under General Settings in the Filters menu.

DISPATCH launched on October 22, 2025, for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. With the HR Violations update, AdHoc Studio is giving players more flexibility over how they experience the game’s adult humor, while still working within platform and regional content rules.
