At the recent WWDC conference, Apple unveiled macOS Tahoe, packed with exciting updates that enhance user experience and connectivity with the iPhone. This design mirrors the reflective, transparent style of iOS 26, giving everything a fresh, glass-like finish.
But there’s more to macOS Tahoe than just aesthetics. Apple Intelligence plays a central role, enhancing various functions and creating a seamless experience. One such improvement is the integration with iPhone, allowing users to see Live Activities directly on their Mac. These are the handy pop-ups that show real-time updates, like the status of your Uber Eats order.
For the first time, Mac users will enjoy a dedicated Phone app, complete with features like Call Screening and Hold Assist, while Live Translation will enhance communication across Phone, Messages, and FaceTime apps.
Spotlight search also gets a significant boost in macOS Tahoe. Leveraging Apple’s AI capabilities, Spotlight becomes smarter, delivering results tailored to your current tasks and suggesting actions based on your activities.
Users can perform tasks directly from Spotlight without opening specific apps. During the WWDC demo, an Apple executive showcased how you could type an email’s subject line and body in Spotlight and send it, streamlining the process effortlessly.
Additionally, customizable quick keys in Spotlight allow for personalized actions. For instance, typing “AR” can add a reminder, while “SM” lets you send a message quickly.
Other notable updates include features from iOS 26, such as enhancements to Genmoji and Image Playground, AI-assisted reminders, a new Apple Games app, and the introduction of backgrounds and polls in Messages. The FaceTime app receives a new landing page, and the Journal app makes its way to Tahoe.
