The entry-level Radeon RX 7400 has been making waves as it appears to be on the brink of an official launch. Recent sightings suggest that this GPU might soon hit the market, with Dell integrating it into its latest enterprise-focused Pro Tower Plus desktop PC, featuring the Core Ultra 7 vPRO CPU. This move hints at the possibility of OEM exclusivity.
The AMD Radeon RX 7400 has been sporadically mentioned over the past few months, and its presence was first noted in AIDA64’s database some time ago. While rumors have surrounded this GPU since last year, it has taken a significant time to emerge on any retailer’s shelves.
Part of the RX 7000 series, the Radeon RX 7400 is built on the advanced RDNA 3 architecture. Unlike its RDNA 2 predecessors, which included GPUs like the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT, the RX 7400 aims to broaden the RX 7000 lineup options by offering a more affordable choice.
Recent developments reveal that Dell has equipped its new Pro Tower Plus desktop enterprise PCs with the Radeon RX 7400, signaling its potential OEM exclusivity. These PCs also come with an impressive Core Ultra 7 265 vPro processor. Although details are scarce, this latest deployment offers the first glimpse of the GPU’s specs, highlighting an 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM capacity, doubling the memory offered by the RX 6400. Additionally, the RX 7400 features 4x DisplayPorts.
Earlier insights revealed that the Radeon RX 7400 shares its die with the Radeon RX 7600, specifically the NAVI 33. However, it is expected to be a scaled-down version, with fewer shaders and a likely narrower 64-bit bus width, akin to the RX 6500 XT. While pricing and availability details for the Dell Pro Tower Plus QBT1250 model remain under wraps, anticipation builds as the official retail launch approaches.
