Tactical RPG fans, mark your calendars: Dark Deity 2 is bringing its strategic warfare to consoles. Publisher Indie.io and developer Sword & Axe have confirmed the sequel will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 7. The SRPG is already available on PC through Steam and on Nintendo Switch, and a new trailer highlights what’s in store for console players.
Set 25 years after the events of the original, Dark Deity 2 returns to the war-torn world of Verroa. Irving and the Eternal Order have spent decades rebuilding, only to face a fresh invasion from the expansionist Holy Asverellian Empire. You’ll command the Eternal Delegation, now led by Irving’s descendants, Gwyn and Riordian, as they navigate treacherous politics, forge alliances, and rally a scrappy roster of would-be heroes. Every decision you make shapes who stands with you—and how your army evolves.
Turn-based tactical combat remains the core of the experience, with 20 playable heroes and a deep class system. Characters can branch into 45 different classes, each with unique abilities, passive bonuses, and battlefield roles. Buildcrafting goes far beyond class picks; experimenting with skills, abilities, and gear can completely redefine a unit’s performance and open new tactical possibilities. Bonds form under pressure, but difficult battles and hard choices can also strain relationships, changing how your team fights together.
Choice is central to Dark Deity 2. Verroa is splintered by rival factions, each with its own agenda. Deciding who to back—and who to abandon—can reshape upcoming encounters, alter your roster, and send your campaign down very different paths. No two playthroughs are alike, and what works in one run might backfire in the next.
To push replayability even further, the game includes a robust built-in randomizer and campaign customization suite from day one. You can shuffle recruitment order, tune difficulty, and tweak stats, aptitude, XP rates, and gold gains to create tailored runs that challenge your strategy in new ways.
