Cyplore: The Pocket-Sized E‑Bike Upgrade That Cuts Costs and Boosts Your Ride

A new retrofit kit called CyploreA is positioning itself as a compact, lightweight way to upgrade a standard bicycle into an electric bike without the cost of buying a full e-bike. Designed with road and gravel riders in mind, the system focuses on subtle, situational assistance rather than turning a performance bike into a heavy, motor-driven commuter.

Cyplore is expected to launch soon, starting with a crowdfunding debut, and it’s already being presented in detail on a prelaunch listing. Early buyers can also lock in a discount by placing a $10 deposit. Pricing depends on the version you choose: the Cyplore Flex is listed at $599, while the Cyplore One comes in at $779. While that’s not “cheap,” the pricing makes sense for the audience Cyplore is targeting—road and gravel cyclists who typically invest more in components, weight savings, and overall ride quality.

The big selling point is how small and light the kit is. Cyplore says the system weighs just 1.7 kilograms, which is a key detail for riders who care about climbing, handling, and keeping the feel of their bike intact. The kit uses a rear hub motor and a separate battery rather than a bulky mid-drive system. The battery mounts in the spot normally used for a water bottle or bottle cage, helping keep the install clean and the weight placement familiar for cyclists accustomed to performance setups.

In terms of performance, the motor is rated for 250 watts of nominal continuous power and is advertised to deliver 23 Nm of torque. Claimed range is up to 50 kilometers, which may sound limited compared to full-size e-bikes, but it aligns with the product’s purpose: providing electric assistance when you need it most—into headwinds, on punchy climbs, or when fatigue hits—without constantly relying on the motor for propulsion.

Depending on the kit configuration, a rim may also be included, which could simplify installation for riders who don’t want to source additional wheel components. Overall, Cyplore is aiming to be a practical e-bike conversion kit for cyclists who want to preserve the performance identity of a road or gravel bike while adding lightweight electric support—and potentially saving money compared to purchasing a dedicated e-bike.
