Corsair Unleashes MP700 PRO XT: PCIe 5.0 SSD Roaring at Up to 14,900 MB/s Reads

Corsair is turning up the heat in the PCIe 5.0 storage race with two new NVMe SSDs aimed squarely at enthusiasts, gamers, and power users. Hot on the heels of other blisteringly fast Gen5 launches, the company now claims up to 14,900 MB/s sequential read speeds—paired with a class-leading 14,500 MB/s write—on its flagship MP700 PRO XT.

That write figure matters. While a recent competitor touted the same top read speed, its write performance topped out at 14,000 MB/s. Corsair’s MP700 PRO XT raises the bar on both fronts, delivering balanced throughput for demanding workflows like high-resolution video editing, massive file transfers, and next-gen PC gaming.

Under the hood, the drive is powered by the Phison E28 controller, which Corsair says helps it deliver not just raw speed but excellent power efficiency. The MP700 PRO XT also supports Microsoft DirectStorage, enabling games to stream assets directly to the GPU for quicker loads and smoother, more responsive gameplay. For maintenance and management, the free Corsair SSD Toolbox lets users clone drives, update firmware, and securely wipe data with ease.

Corsair is also introducing the MP700 MICRO, a compact PCIe 5.0 SSD in the M.2 2242 form factor designed for tight spaces like laptops and gaming handhelds. Despite its smaller footprint, it boasts up to 10,000 MB/s sequential read and 8,000 MB/s write speeds—more than enough to make operating systems, apps, and modern games feel snappier. It uses high-density 3D TLC NAND to reach capacities up to 4 TB, with a 2 TB option available as well.

The MP700 PRO XT rolls out in multiple capacities with aggressive pricing: 1 TB at $159, 2 TB at $240, and 4 TB at $459. A 5-year warranty backs the lineup, and both new SSDs are available now through authorized distributors and retail partners. Corsair also plans to expand MP700 PRO XT capacity options in early 2026.

If you’re building a high-performance PC or upgrading a compact powerhouse, these PCIe 5.0 NVMe drives aim to deliver top-tier speeds, strong efficiency, and future-ready features that make a noticeable difference in real-world use.
