Commandos: Origins Release Pushed to 2025

In a recent announcement, fans of the Commandos series have learned that the eagerly awaited Commandos: Origins will now be making its debut in March 2025, shifting from its initially planned 2024 release. This decision, made by publisher Kalypso Media and developer Claymore Game Studios, comes with the intention of perfecting what promises to be an enthralling tactical adventure.

Jürgen Reusswig, the Studio Director at Claymore Game Studios, emphasized the importance of upholding the franchise’s legacy of tactical precision. He conveyed that the feedback collected from the community has been invaluable in shaping the game’s development. This additional time will allow the team to fine-tune several core aspects of the game, ensuring an optimal experience for all players.

Among the enhancements planned are performance optimizations aimed at resolving frame rate issues to deliver a smoother gaming experience. The game will benefit from more responsive NPCs thanks to an improved AI system. Moreover, an updated control scheme is set to make gameplay more intuitive, further complemented by customizable key-bindings on Windows PC – features already introduced in the Closed Beta and the demo.

Players can also look forward to updates in the UI/UX, which are expected to significantly enrich their overall experience. Moreover, provisional voice-overs used during the demo phase will be replaced with professionally recorded lines available in multiple languages including English, German, French, Spanish, and Chinese, thus enhancing the authenticity of the World War II setting.

Upon release, Commandos: Origins will be available on multiple platforms, including Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Additionally, the game will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass, broadening its availability to a diverse audience. By choosing to delay the launch, the developers show a strong commitment to delivering a meticulously crafted tactical masterpiece, making it well worth the wait for devoted fans and newcomers alike.
