Citizen Launches Trio of 43mm Stainless-Steel Chronographs Featuring Tachymeter Bezels

Citizen Europe is growing its mid-range lineup of technical, light-powered chronographs with three fresh additions: the Citizen AT2565-05E, AT2566-88E, and AT2569-04L. Built around a modern 43 mm stainless steel case, these new models aim to balance sporty chronograph styling with everyday wearability, thanks in part to a relatively slim 10.7 mm case thickness for this category.

All three watches share the same design DNA: a fixed external tachymeter bezel for speed calculations and a dial finished with a distinctive concentric circle texture that adds depth under changing light. It’s a look that leans classic chronograph while still feeling current—especially with the colorways Citizen has chosen for each reference.

Powering the trio is Citizen’s Caliber H500 Eco-Drive movement, a solar-quartz engine that converts virtually any light source into energy. On a full charge, it’s rated for about 150 days of running time, with monthly accuracy listed at ±15 seconds. Functionally, the H500 delivers a 1-second chronograph capable of timing up to 60 minutes, along with a 24-hour sub-dial at the 2 o’clock position and a date window at 4 o’clock. There’s also a practical low-charge indicator: when power is running down, the seconds hand begins jumping in two-second intervals to warn you it’s time for more light exposure.

Where these three new Citizen chronographs really separate is in their execution and wrist feel:

The Citizen AT2565-05E goes for a stealthier, sport-forward vibe with a black-plated stainless steel case, green-accented sub-dials, and a textured black rubber strap. It’s the boldest of the trio and should appeal to anyone who wants a darker, more tactical chronograph look without sacrificing daily usability.

The Citizen AT2566-88E stays closer to a traditional stainless steel chronograph aesthetic, pairing a silver-tone case with a multi-link stainless steel bracelet. It also stands out with a bi-color red and black bezel insert for a more motorsport-inspired touch. Citizen lists its total weight at 153 g, making it the heftiest and most bracelet-forward option of the lineup.

The Citizen AT2569-04L pivots into a cooler palette, featuring a blue dial matched with a black and silver bezel insert. Like the AT2565-05E, it comes on a black rubber strap, giving it a sporty, lightweight feel while keeping the dial color as the main visual highlight.

For durability, each model is rated to 10 bar water resistance, which makes them suitable for everyday splashes, swimming, and other moderate water activities. One noteworthy consideration in this price segment, however, is crystal choice: Citizen uses mineral crystal rather than sapphire. For many buyers, that’s the key trade-off here—mineral crystal can be more prone to scratches than sapphire, even though it’s a common choice in mid-range watch releases.

With solar charging convenience, a versatile 43 mm case, and a tachymeter-equipped chronograph layout, these new Citizen Eco-Drive references are positioned as practical sport watches that don’t demand constant battery swaps. Whether you prefer the darker black-and-green edge of the AT2565-05E, the bracelet-and-bezel punch of the AT2566-88E, or the blue-dial contrast of the AT2569-04L, Citizen’s latest trio offers three distinct takes on the same dependable Eco-Drive chronograph formula.
