Chunghwa Precision Test Tech (CHPT), a subsidiary of Chunghwa Telecom, is preparing for a major expansion in northern Taiwan as it moves forward with plans for a new manufacturing site in Taoyuan. The company says construction of its third plant in the Pingzhen area is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with the facility expected to be completed by early 2028.
If the project stays on track, CHPT anticipates production could start in the second half of 2028. The upcoming plant is designed to strengthen the company’s long-term production capacity and help meet future demand, especially as industries continue to ramp up investment in advanced testing, precision manufacturing, and technology-driven supply chains.
The Pingzhen expansion signals CHPT’s continued commitment to growing its footprint in Taoyuan, a region known for its industrial infrastructure and proximity to key technology and manufacturing hubs. By adding a third plant, the company positions itself to scale operations more efficiently while supporting customers that rely on high-precision testing and related services.
For businesses watching Taiwan’s manufacturing and semiconductor-adjacent sectors, CHPT’s timeline is worth noting: early 2026 for groundbreaking, early 2028 for completion, and a potential production launch in late 2028. This multi-year buildout underscores how companies are planning ahead to secure capacity, modernize facilities, and stay competitive as demand for precision test technologies continues to grow.
