Taiwan Telecom Giants Post Strong July 2026 Results as 5G, Roaming and Handset Demand Lift Growth
Taiwan’s top three telecom operators delivered a strong performance in July 2026, supported by healthy mobile service demand, rising 5G adoption, increased international roaming revenue and steady handset sales.
Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone Telecommunications all reported solid monthly results, showing that Taiwan’s telecom market remains resilient despite intense competition and changing consumer spending patterns. The July performance highlights how operators are benefiting from a mix of seasonal travel activity, premium mobile plans and continued customer interest in 5G services.
A key growth driver in July was the rebound in roaming demand. With summer travel in full swing, more customers used international roaming services, helping lift mobile revenue across the sector. Telecom companies have been promoting convenient roaming packages and travel-friendly mobile plans, allowing users to stay connected while abroad without relying only on local SIM cards or public Wi-Fi.
5G upgrades also played an important role in strengthening monthly performance. As more subscribers move from 4G to 5G plans, operators are seeing higher average revenue per user. 5G packages often include larger data allowances, faster speeds and added digital services, making them attractive to customers who stream video, play mobile games, use cloud applications or work remotely from their phones.
Handset sales remained another bright spot. Demand for smartphones continued to support telecom revenue, especially as consumers upgraded to newer devices capable of taking full advantage of 5G networks. Bundled offers combining phones with 5G contracts helped operators maintain momentum in a competitive market.
Chunghwa Telecom, the largest telecom provider in Taiwan, continued to benefit from its broad customer base and strong position in mobile, broadband and enterprise services. Its July results reflected stable demand across core business areas, with mobile services remaining a major contributor.
Taiwan Mobile also posted a solid month, supported by its mobile business, digital services and ongoing efforts to increase customer value through bundled offerings. The company has been focusing on strengthening its 5G subscriber base while expanding services beyond traditional telecom.
Far EasTone Telecommunications likewise delivered a strong July performance, helped by mobile revenue growth, roaming demand and 5G plan adoption. The company has continued to emphasize network quality, digital transformation and enterprise solutions as part of its long-term growth strategy.
The latest results suggest that Taiwan’s telecom industry is entering the second half of 2026 with positive momentum. Seasonal roaming revenue may normalize after the summer travel period, but 5G migration, smartphone upgrades and expanding digital services are expected to remain important growth engines.
As Taiwan’s major telecom operators continue investing in network quality, customer experience and new service offerings, competition is likely to remain active. For consumers, that could mean more attractive 5G plans, improved roaming packages and stronger handset promotions in the months ahead.
Overall, the strong July results from Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone show that Taiwan’s telecom sector remains well positioned for continued growth, driven by 5G adoption, mobile data demand, travel-related services and steady consumer interest in connected devices.
