Intel Core i9-14900KF Hits 9.2 GHz in New Overclocking Record
The Intel Core i9-14900KF may no longer be Intel’s newest flagship-class desktop chip, but it is still proving that Raptor Lake Refresh has plenty of extreme-performance potential left. A Chinese overclocker known as wytiwx has pushed the processor to an incredible 9206.34 MHz, setting a new high-frequency record for the chip.
The result was validated through CPU-Z and has placed wytiwx at the top of the rankings on HWBot for the Intel Core i9-14900KF frequency category. Even more impressive, this appears to be the only confirmed 9.0 GHz+ result for the 14900KF, making the achievement stand out in the competitive overclocking scene.
While Intel has moved forward with its newer Core Ultra Series 2 processors, many gamers, PC enthusiasts, and overclockers continue to rely on high-end 14th Gen chips such as the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KF. These processors are known for strong binning and high clock speed potential, which makes them especially attractive for extreme overclocking attempts.
Before this new record, the highest Core i9-14900KF frequency had stood for nearly two years. That previous milestone was set by overclocker safedisk, who reached 8851 MHz. Since then, most major record-breaking attempts focused on related chips like the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KS.
The broader 9 GHz club has been extremely exclusive. Prior to wytiwx’s achievement, one of the most notable records came from elmor, who pushed the Core i9-14900KS to 9117.75 MHz. Now, with the Core i9-14900KF reaching 9206.34 MHz, wytiwx has moved beyond that mark and claimed a remarkable position in desktop CPU overclocking history.
For the record attempt, the Intel Core i9-14900KF was paired with an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard, a popular choice among competitive overclockers thanks to its power delivery, memory tuning capabilities, and design focus on extreme performance. The overclocker disabled the E-cores and achieved the record using the processor’s 8 Performance cores.
Reaching 9206.34 MHz is far beyond what any everyday gaming or productivity setup would use, but records like this highlight the limits of modern desktop CPU engineering. These runs typically require specialized cooling, careful voltage tuning, motherboard-level expertise, and a processor sample capable of surviving conditions far outside normal operation.
Given that the previous Core i9-14900KF record remained unbeaten for almost two years, this new 9.2 GHz result may stay at the top for quite some time. For now, wytiwx has delivered one of the most impressive Intel Core i9-14900KF overclocking results ever recorded.
