Casio G-Steel GST-B1000BD Watches Leak With Full Black IP Coating, Solar Power, and Bluetooth
Casio appears to be getting ready to expand its G-Steel GST-B1000 lineup with two striking new black models. The upcoming GST-B1000BD-1A and GST-B1000BD-2A have reportedly surfaced in early renders ahead of an expected mid-summer reveal, giving watch fans a first look at what could be the most stylish versions of the series so far.
These new Casio G-Steel watches are expected to be the first major update to the GST-B1000 range since the collection debuted in autumn 2025. Both models keep the compact and modern case design that helped the GST-B1000 stand out from older, bulkier G-Steel references.
The GST-B1000BD-1A and GST-B1000BD-2A are said to share a 46.9 × 44.2 × 11.6 mm case, making them relatively slim for the G-Steel family. Casio is reportedly using a carbon core structure, along with damper inserts beneath the bezel, to improve durability while keeping the watch lighter and more wearable for everyday use.
The biggest visual upgrade is the full IP coating. Both watches are expected to feature ion-plated finishing across the case, bezel, and bracelet, giving them a tougher, more premium appearance. The cast-link bracelet mixes mirror-polished and satin-brushed surfaces, while reinforced pins should add extra confidence for daily wear.
The GST-B1000BD-1A takes the stealthy route with a full blackout design. Its dark gray to black case, bezel, and bracelet create a clean, tactical look, while Neobrite-coated hands and hour markers help maintain visibility in low light. This model is likely to appeal to fans who prefer a sleek, understated G-Shock with a more mature metal finish.
The GST-B1000BD-2A adds a bolder twist by pairing the black IP-coated hardware with a vivid blue dial. The dial is expected to feature a textured pattern that may remind longtime Casio fans of the classic brick-style design seen on some iconic G-Shock models. This version should stand out more on the wrist while still keeping the rugged G-Steel personality.
In terms of features, both models are expected to include Bluetooth connectivity and solar charging. That combination makes the watches practical for users who want accurate timekeeping and reduced battery maintenance. Through the Casio Watches companion app, owners should be able to monitor charge levels and access connected functions.
Other expected functions include a 30-minute stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarm, 24-hour time display, and Super Illuminator LED backlight. While there may not be a physical battery indicator on the watch itself, app-based monitoring should make it easy to keep track of power status.
Pricing has not been officially confirmed, but early estimates suggest the Casio G-Steel GST-B1000BD-1A and GST-B1000BD-2A could land at around $450. That would place them slightly above the standard GST-B1000 models, which makes sense given the upgraded full IP-coated finish and more premium visual treatment.
If the leaked details are accurate, these two new Casio G-Steel watches could be strong additions to the brand’s metal-covered G-Shock lineup. With slim proportions, solar charging, Bluetooth support, carbon core construction, and bold black IP styling, the GST-B1000BD-1A and GST-B1000BD-2A look set to attract collectors and everyday watch buyers alike.
