Casio’s New G-Shock Takes Its Style Cues From a Bargain-Born Corvette

Casio has introduced a bold new G-Shock DW6900MO26-4, a limited-edition collaboration with Bay Area rapper Larry June and his lifestyle brand Midnight Organic. Built around the instantly recognizable DW-6900 design, this special release brings a vivid orange look inspired by one of June’s most personal possessions: his 1987 Chevrolet Corvette.

The watch’s standout colorway comes directly from the Corvette’s custom orange interior, nicknamed “Tropical Guts.” Larry June reportedly purchased the car in 2018 for just $3,500 after finding it parked on the side of the road in Pacifica, California. With its silver and gray metallic exterior and bright orange cabin, the Corvette has become a key symbol of June’s relaxed yet refined style.

That same contrast appears throughout the G-Shock DW6900MO26-4. The watch features a bold orange resin bezel and strap, paired with metallic details around the dial and a silver-colored metal keeper that nods to the Corvette’s exterior finish. It keeps the classic DW-6900 shape, including the three circular indicators on the face and the large front light button that has long been a signature of the model.

Midnight Organic branding appears above the digital display, while “1991” is printed on the strap. The case back includes an engraved circular emblem reading “1991, You’re Doing Good,” adding another personal touch to the collaboration.

One of the most distinctive features is hidden in the backlight. Pressing the light button activates the Super Illuminator LED and reveals a custom red “Good Job!” message on the display. The packaging also follows the same bright orange theme and includes “You’re Doing Good” artwork, making the release feel like a complete collector’s piece rather than just a color update.

Despite the special design, the watch still delivers the rugged G-Shock features fans expect. It includes shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, multifunction alarm, Super Illuminator LED backlight, and support for both 12-hour and 24-hour time formats.

The Casio G-Shock DW6900MO26-4 is priced at $170. It is scheduled to launch through Midnight Organic on July 24, followed by a wider release through G-Shock’s U.S. online store, the SoHo retail location, and selected retailers on July 31.

Casio has not yet confirmed availability or pricing for the UK, Europe, or Australia. Given the strong visual identity, the Larry June connection, and the classic DW-6900 foundation, this limited-edition orange G-Shock is likely to attract both watch collectors and fans of streetwear-inspired collaborations.
