Casio Unveils the MTG-B4000D-1AJF: A Carbon-Framed Premium Timepiece Now Open for Preorders

Casio is now taking preorders in Japan for the MTG-B4000D-1AJF, a brand-new metal-bracelet model in the premium MT-G family. Set to release in January 2026, this latest entry in the MTG-B4000 series arrives with a price of ¥187,000 (about $1,192), placing it firmly in the higher-end G-Shock territory for buyers who want rugged performance with a more upscale, all-metal look.

What makes the MTG-B4000D-1AJF stand out is its layered, hybrid build. Casio pairs a carbon fiber–reinforced resin frame with stainless steel components, an approach described as an evolution of the brand’s dual-core guard construction. The idea is straightforward: the carbon composite frame is designed to absorb shocks, while the stainless steel exterior adds rigidity and protection. Rather than relying on a single-piece shell, the structure is broken into multiple parts, with the frame, bezel, and caseback working together as separate elements.

That hybrid strategy continues with the bracelet. At first glance it looks like a traditional full stainless steel bracelet, but Casio says it uses a layered composite structure that blends stainless steel with reinforced resin components. The goal is to balance durability and impact resistance while managing weight, though it still comes in at 178 grams—noticeably hefty for those who prefer lighter daily wear.

In terms of size, the MTG-B4000D measures 56.6 × 45.3 × 14.4 mm and offers 200 meters of water resistance, keeping it in line with what many shoppers expect from a serious G-Shock-style watch. Power comes from Casio’s Tough Solar charging system, helping reduce battery worries for long-term ownership.

For accuracy and convenience, the watch supports Multi Band 6 radio time calibration across key regions including Japan, North America, Europe, and China. It also includes Bluetooth connectivity for time syncing and settings management through Casio’s Watches app—useful for quick adjustments without digging through button combinations.

Feature-wise, the MTG-B4000D-1AJF covers the essentials people search for in a premium tough watch: world time, stopwatch, countdown timer, alarms, LED illumination, a full auto calendar, and a battery indicator. Casio rates it for about five months of operation on a full charge without light exposure, and up to roughly 18 months when power-saving mode is used.

Preorders are currently open in Japan, with the official launch planned for January 2026.
