Casio Baby-G BGD-10 Series Debuts With Y2K Style, Detachable Design, and Glitter Details
Casio has introduced two fresh additions to its Baby-G digital watch lineup in Japan: the BGD-10KG-2JR and BGD-10KG-4JR. Designed with a playful Y2K-inspired look, the new models blend early-2000s nostalgia with the durability and practical features Baby-G watches are known for.
The Casio Baby-G BGD-10 series stands out with its semi-translucent resin bands and glitter-accented dials, giving the watches a bold, youthful appearance. The BGD-10KG-2JR arrives in a sea blue finish, while the BGD-10KG-4JR comes in a bright pink colorway. Both versions are clearly aimed at users who want a digital watch that feels fun, fashionable, and easy to wear every day.
One of the most interesting features of these new Baby-G watches is their detachable modular design. The central digital watch module can be removed from the standard wristband and placed into the included glitter-finished silicone holder. This holder comes with its own strap, allowing the watch to be attached to a backpack, lanyard, belt loop, or other accessories.
This design gives the BGD-10 series more versatility than a typical wristwatch. It can be worn on the wrist for everyday use or clipped onto a bag as a stylish digital accessory. For fans of retro fashion, streetwear, and customizable gadgets, this flexible setup adds extra appeal.
Despite the playful design, Casio has included plenty of practical features. The Baby-G BGD-10KG-2JR and BGD-10KG-4JR both offer shock resistance, a 1/100-second stopwatch, world time support across 29 time zones, five daily alarms, an LED backlight with afterglow, and a fully automatic calendar that runs through the year 2099.
The watches are also water-resistant up to 10 ATM, making them suitable for daily use, splashes, rain, and swimming. Each model weighs about 33 grams, or around 1.16 ounces, so they should feel lightweight and comfortable on the wrist or when clipped to accessories. Battery life is rated at approximately three years.
In Japan, the Casio Baby-G BGD-10KG-2JR and BGD-10KG-4JR are priced at ¥11,550 each, which is around $71. Both models are currently available for pre-order through Casio’s official Japanese store, with release expected later this month.
Casio has not yet confirmed whether the Baby-G BGD-10 series will launch globally. However, with its Y2K styling, detachable watch module, glitter details, and affordable pricing, the BGD-10KG lineup could attract strong interest from Baby-G collectors and fashion-focused digital watch fans outside Japan as well.
