Casio is expanding its compact G-Shock lineup with the new GMD-B300 series, bringing step tracking and Bluetooth syncing to a smaller, lighter design. Pre-orders are already live in Japan, with the watches expected to launch in May 2026. With a rugged build, 200 m water resistance, and everyday digital features, the GMD-B300 models look aimed at people who want classic G-Shock toughness without the usual bulky fit.
The new range arrives in two color options: the GMD-B300-2JF in navy and the GMD-B300-7JF in an off-white shade. Both share the same specs and sizing, measuring 46.4 × 43.8 × 12 mm and weighing just 41 grams. That reduced footprint should make a noticeable difference for smaller wrists or anyone who finds traditional G-Shock cases too large for all-day comfort.
A key upgrade in the GMD-B300 series is the built-in step tracker. The watch automatically counts steps throughout the day and displays daily totals along with progress toward a goal you set. It also provides step graphs broken into time intervals, making it easier to see when you were active rather than just showing a single number at the end of the day.
Bluetooth is included as well, allowing the watch to connect with the Casio Watches app. Once paired, the app can be used to handle activity logs, view step history, and manage certain settings and time-related adjustments. It’s a straightforward sync feature designed for convenience, rather than a full smartwatch experience.
Beyond tracking, these models keep the familiar digital G-Shock toolset: dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer, five alarms, and a full auto-calendar. The LED backlight includes auto-light support and adjustable illumination time. There’s also a power-saving mode, and Casio rates battery life at around two years—understandably lower than simpler non-connected digitals, given the added sensors and Bluetooth capability.
In terms of materials, Casio sticks with resin construction but notes the use of biomass-based plastic for the case and band. Despite the smaller form factor, the GMD-B300 watches retain shock resistance and the brand’s signature durability. Water resistance is rated at 200 meters, keeping them suitable for swimming and water-heavy daily use.
Pricing is set at ¥17,600, roughly around $110–$120 depending on conversion. Pre-orders are currently available in Japan, and broader availability is expected to follow after the May 2026 release window.
