Casio has expanded its G-Shock G-Steel lineup in the UK with the official release of the GST-B1000 series. The new models bring the rugged styling and durability expected from the G-Steel family, but with a more lightweight and accessible design compared to the full-metal versions.
The newly listed Casio G-Steel GST-B1000 series includes two models: the GST-B1000-1A and GST-B1000-2A. Both watches feature a metal case paired with a resin band, giving them a lighter feel on the wrist while still maintaining the bold, tough look associated with G-Shock watches.
This design choice makes a noticeable difference in weight. The new resin-band GST-B1000 models weigh just 58 grams, while the full-metal versions weigh around 118 grams. That makes these latest releases almost half the weight, which should appeal to buyers who want a durable G-Steel watch without the heavier feel of a stainless steel bracelet.
Casio has kept the overall design clean and modern. The watches feature a sleek, logo-free bezel and a minimalist metal case that gives the GST-B1000 series a refined appearance. Despite the lighter strap, these models still carry the signature toughness of the G-Shock range.
Buyers in the UK can choose between two dial options. The GST-B1000-1A comes in a classic black finish, while the GST-B1000-2A offers a darker metallic blue look. Both versions include a brick-pattern dial texture inspired by the original G-Shock design, adding a subtle heritage touch to the modern G-Steel styling.
In terms of size, the resin-band models remain just as slim as their full-metal counterparts. Both measure 11.6 mm thick, making them relatively sleek for a G-Shock watch with a metal case and advanced features.
