Casio is expanding its popular G-Shock 2100 lineup with a new full-metal release, and pre-orders are now open in Japan for the Casio GMC-B2100ADS-1AJF. Scheduled to launch in April 2026, this stainless-steel “CasiOak” arrives with a premium build, Tough Solar charging, and Bluetooth connectivity, all priced at ¥107,800 (around $679).
Staying true to the instantly recognizable octagonal B2100 shape, the GMC-B2100ADS-1AJF swaps the lightweight resin construction found on many 2100 models for an all-stainless-steel case and bracelet. Casio leans heavily into finishing details here, combining brushed and polished surfaces to give the watch a more upscale, jewelry-like presence. The bezel is produced through a multi-step manufacturing approach that includes forging, cutting, and polishing, with a circular hairline finish on the top surface and mirror polishing along the angled sides.
Size-wise, it’s a substantial G-Shock. The watch measures 51.3 × 46.3 × 12.4 mm and weighs 171 grams, making it noticeably heavier than resin B2100 variants. Even with the full-metal build, Casio says it maintains the brand’s shock-resistant design, including internal cushioning intended to help absorb impacts. Water resistance is rated at 20 bar, keeping it in line with what fans expect from a modern G-Shock.
The dial goes for a monochrome look, pairing a silver base with contrasting black subdials. It’s a busy, purpose-driven layout, with three subdials supporting functions such as stopwatch tracking and mode indication. Core features include world time, a 1-second stopwatch with split timing, a 24-hour countdown timer, daily alarms, and a white LED backlight with afterglow for improved visibility in low light.
Bluetooth is also built in, allowing the watch to pair with the Casio Watches app. Once connected, users can enable automatic time correction, access world time settings for around 300 cities, and use a phone finder feature. Power is handled by Casio’s Tough Solar system, with an estimated five months of runtime on a full charge, stretching to roughly 18 months when power-saving mode is used.
With its added weight, metal bracelet, and refined polishing, the GMC-B2100ADS-1AJF is positioned as a more premium take on the B2100 concept—ideal for buyers who want a tougher watch that still feels elevated on the wrist. That same heft and metal-forward design may be less appealing to anyone who prefers the lighter, more casual feel of traditional resin G-Shocks, but for those seeking a full-metal G-Shock 2100 with solar and smartphone features, this April 2026 release is shaping up to be one to watch.
