Casio is expanding its ongoing collaboration with basketball star Rui Hachimura with the G-Shock GM-5600RH-1, a special edition built on the brand’s iconic square 5600 foundation. This model pairs everyday toughness with athlete-inspired style and lands first in Japan later this month.
The watch features an inverted display that puts light numerals against a dark background for a bold, modern look, backed by a high-brightness LED to keep things legible in low light. Inside, you get classic G-Shock durability and utility: shock resistance, 20-bar water resistance, and all the timekeeping essentials. That includes a stopwatch, alarm, fully automatic calendar, and flash notifications that blink for alarms, hourly time signals, or timers.
A long-lasting battery rated for up to five years powers it all. There’s no solar charging on this model, but the extended battery life means worry-free use with minimal maintenance.
Pricing and availability start in Japan at 39,600 yen, which converts to roughly $267. It ships in special collaboration packaging to mark the release. While Casio hasn’t confirmed a global rollout yet, previous Rui Hachimura editions have reached the US and other regions, so there’s a strong chance this one won’t be limited to Japan for long.
This drop continues a partnership that began with the GST-B100RH in 2020. Each year’s release nods to a different corner of the G-Shock lineup: the third collaboration drew on the DW-6900, while the 2024 model was based on the GA-B2100. The new GM-5600RH-1 keeps the momentum going by reimagining a fan-favorite silhouette with a signature Hachimura twist.
If you’re into limited collaborations, rugged everyday watches, or the timeless square G-Shock aesthetic, the GM-5600RH-1 is one to watch as it hits stores in Japan and potentially beyond.
