Casio Brings G-Shock to Roblox With a Skateboarding Obby and Virtual Watch Items
Casio is taking its iconic G-Shock brand into the Roblox universe with a new digital experience built for fans of gaming, street culture, and bold watch design. The company has launched its “Virtual G-Shock project,” featuring a G-Shock-themed skateboarding obstacle course and a collection of virtual watch accessories inspired by two of its most popular models.
The new Roblox experience is called “Challenge the Skate Obby: G-Shock.” In Roblox, an “obby” refers to an obstacle course, one of the platform’s most recognizable game formats. This version puts players on a skateboard and sends them through a fast-paced course inspired by G-Shock’s reputation for toughness and durability.
Players will ride through a course filled with moving hammers, narrow pathways, checkpoints, and other challenges designed to test timing and control. If a player falls, checkpoints allow them to respawn nearby, making the experience more about improving speed and skill than starting over from the beginning. The goal is simple: reach the finish line as quickly as possible while mastering the course.
To celebrate the launch, Casio is also offering 12 virtual G-Shock watch items in the Roblox catalog. These digital accessories are based on the DW-5600 and GA-2100, two of the brand’s best-known watch lines. Each model is available in six different color options, giving players a range of styles to match their Roblox avatars.
Wearing the virtual DW-5600 or GA-2100 inside the Skate Obby unlocks special in-game effects, adding another layer of fun for players who want to stand out while racing through the course.
The move makes sense for G-Shock, a brand that has long been connected to youth culture, streetwear, music, sports, and collaborations. Roblox has a massive global audience, with more than 150 million daily active users, many of them younger players. By entering Roblox, Casio is bringing G-Shock to a digital space where fashion, gaming, and self-expression already overlap.
The launch event is live now and runs until August 2, UTC. The virtual G-Shock items are also available in the Roblox catalog, giving players the chance to customize their avatars with digital versions of Casio’s rugged watch designs.
