Casio Edifice EFK-200 Automatic Watches Go Global as Preorders Open

Casio Edifice EFK-200 Automatic Watches Open for Preorder in Japan

Casio’s new Edifice EFK-200 Automatic watch collection is expanding beyond China, with all five models now available for preorder in Japan. The launch is an important step for the Edifice line, as it brings mechanical automatic movements into a series best known for sporty, motorsport-inspired designs and quartz precision.

The Japanese lineup mirrors the five watches previously introduced in China, but with Japan-specific reference numbers and updated local pricing. The collection includes three stainless steel bracelet models, one gold-tone version, and a premium Toyota Racing collaboration model featuring forged carbon fiber.

At the top of the range is the Casio Edifice EFK-200XPB-1AJF Toyota Racing model, priced at ¥74,800, or roughly $460. This version stands out with a forged carbon fiber dial and case elements, rose gold-colored indexes, and a rubber strap. Its lightweight, performance-focused design gives it the strongest motorsport personality in the new lineup.

The standard stainless steel bracelet models are priced at ¥55,000 each, or around $338. These include the black EFK-200CD-1AJF, the blue EFK-200D-2AJF, and the red EFK-200D-4AJF. Each model keeps the same core design and mechanical specifications, with the main differences coming down to dial color and reference number.

Casio is also offering a gold-tone model, the EFK-200DG-5AJF, priced at ¥66,000, or about $406. It sits between the stainless steel versions and the Toyota Racing edition, giving buyers a more premium-looking option without reaching the highest price point in the collection.

All five Casio Edifice EFK-200 Automatic watches share the same mechanical foundation. They are powered by the Miyota 8215 automatic movement, listed by Casio as Module 5766. The movement offers a 42-hour power reserve, 21 jewels, and an accuracy rating of -20 to +40 seconds per day.

The watches also feature a sapphire crystal on the front, which is a welcome upgrade for scratch resistance, along with a mineral crystal exhibition caseback that lets owners view the automatic movement inside. Case dimensions are listed at 43.6 x 38 x 11.9 mm, giving the EFK-200 a modern but wearable profile.

One detail that stands out is the pricing difference between Japan and China. The steel models launched in China at 2,490 CNY, or around $366, while the Japanese versions start at ¥55,000, or about $338 based on current conversion estimates. Depending on exchange rates and local taxes, buyers comparing regions may notice a gap in pricing and availability.

For now, Casio has not confirmed when the Edifice EFK-200 Automatic collection will reach other international markets. Japan and China remain the only officially confirmed regions, and both are currently handling the watches through preorder rather than wide retail release.

Still, the Japan preorder launch suggests that Casio may be preparing a broader rollout soon. With its combination of automatic movement, sapphire crystal, display caseback, and sporty Edifice styling, the EFK-200 series could attract both longtime Casio fans and buyers looking for an affordable mechanical watch with a modern motorsport edge.
