Casio has unveiled two striking all-metal G-Shock watches, the GMW-B5000D-1C and GM-B2100SD-1C, bringing a new level of sophistication to their iconic designs. These pieces, crafted in Japan, combine durability with a polished stainless-steel finish, capturing the essence of G-Shock’s legendary toughness.
Making its way to the US market, these models clad the familiar square and octagonal G-Shock shapes in sleek stainless steel. Each watch offers a premium aesthetic while maintaining the rugged features that fans expect. Priced at $550, they are available now for those seeking both style and resilience.
The GMW-B5000D-1C pays homage to the original G-Shock, the DW-5000C, featuring its classic rectangular form and signature “SHOCK RESIST” badge. Constructed entirely from stainless steel, this model incorporates fine resin buffers between the bezel and case to absorb shocks efficiently. Its enhanced durability is supported by a three-pronged lug structure and a secure screw-lock case back. In terms of technology, the watch boasts solar power, Bluetooth connectivity, and radio-controlled precision, along with a Super Illuminator LED backlight for visibility in any lighting.
Its counterpart, the GM-B2100SD-1C, showcases the popular octagonal bezel. The black dial, accented with striking red, yellow, and blue, reflects the brand’s core values of shock resistance, water resistance, and bold design. This model also features a detailed dial with a textured finish and a durable build similar to its square sibling. With the same cushioning and structural reinforcements, it ensures the protection of its internal module.
Both timepieces are crafted at Casio’s renowned Yamagata factory, known for its meticulous manufacturing standards. The bezel and case undergo an intricate process of forging, cutting, and polishing, while the brushed finish and polished beveled edges add an elegant touch. The stainless-steel bands, inspired by the original resin designs, feature recognizable dimples that harken back to G-Shock’s storied legacy.
These new all-metal G-Shock models seamlessly blend toughness with refined aesthetics, promising to be a stylish yet resilient addition to any watch enthusiast’s collection.
