Casio has officially brought its premium G-Shock MTG-B4000 lineup to the United States with the MTGB4000D-1A, a high-end MT-G watch that first launched in Japan at the beginning of 2026. Built for buyers who want rugged performance without sacrificing a refined, luxury-leaning finish, this model combines advanced protection, modern connectivity, and a striking black-and-silver look.
The Casio G-Shock MTGB4000D-1A is now available in the US for $1,600 through Casio’s official online store. Casio has also confirmed that shoppers can find it in person at the brand’s SoHo store in New York City, giving collectors and first-time MT-G buyers another way to see the watch up close before committing.
What makes the MTGB4000D-1A stand out is its hybrid construction. The case uses a carbon and stainless steel structure, designed to deliver the toughness G-Shock is known for while keeping the styling sharply premium. It’s paired with a layered composite band that continues the black-and-silver theme, giving it a bold, technical aesthetic that fits both everyday wear and more elevated settings.
Durability is a major selling point here. This is a Triple G Resist model, meaning it’s built to handle shock, centrifugal force, and vibration—an appealing package for anyone who wants a true “wear anywhere” watch. It’s also water resistant to 200 meters, making it suitable for swimming and plenty of water-based activities. In terms of wrist presence, the watch measures 56.5 x 45.3 x 14.4 mm and weighs 178 g, so it’s substantial without being out of character for a flagship MT-G.
On the tech side, the MTGB4000D-1A brings together radio-controlled timekeeping (Multiband 6) and Bluetooth connectivity. With Bluetooth, the Casio Watches app can enable conveniences like automatic time adjustments and a phone finder tool. For travel and daily use, the watch includes a 1-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, and a daily alarm, along with world time functionality. Casio notes the three analog hands are designed to stay accurate within about 15 seconds per month.
The dial layout is built for at-a-glance usefulness: it shows time in a 24-hour format, a second time zone, and the day of the week through its three sub-dials. You also get Tough Solar charging for long-term, low-hassle power, plus an LED backlight for improved visibility in low light.
As for availability outside the US and Japan, Casio hasn’t made it clear whether the MTGB4000D-1A will roll out to additional European markets. However, a related model, the MTG-B4000-1A, is already sold in some regions, including Germany, which could hint at broader expansion later on.
