Calin Technology Soars Past 10% Drone Share, Targets LEO Optics and Automotive Expansion

Calin Technology’s drone camera business is quickly becoming one of its most important growth engines in 2026, as demand for advanced optical lens solutions continues to rise across the drone and mobility sectors.

The optical lens maker has seen strong momentum from its drone camera module segment, with revenue from the business now accounting for more than 10% of total sales this year. The company is aiming to push that contribution beyond 15%, highlighting how rapidly the segment is expanding compared with its other product lines.

This makes drone camera modules Calin Technology’s fastest-growing business in 2026. The increase reflects broader market demand for high-quality imaging components used in commercial drones, industrial inspection systems, mapping applications, security monitoring, and other aerial imaging solutions. As drones become more widely used across industries, camera performance and optical precision are becoming key selling points, creating new opportunities for lens manufacturers.

While the drone segment is gaining speed, Calin Technology’s automotive lens business is expected to remain relatively flat in 2026. However, the company is preparing for a stronger rebound in 2027, supported by a new design-in project with a US automaker.

Automotive lenses remain an important long-term market as carmakers continue to expand the use of camera-based technologies in vehicles. These include advanced driver assistance systems, surround-view monitoring, in-cabin sensing, rearview cameras, and future autonomous driving features. As vehicles become more dependent on visual data, demand for reliable automotive-grade optical components is expected to grow.

The new project with the US automaker could help Calin Technology regain growth momentum in the automotive lens sector next year. Design-in wins are especially important in the automotive supply chain because they can lead to longer production cycles and stable revenue once a vehicle platform moves into mass production.

For 2026, however, the spotlight is clearly on drones. With drone camera module revenue already passing the 10% mark and a target of more than 15% of total sales, Calin Technology is positioning itself to benefit from one of the fastest-growing imaging markets.

The company’s latest performance suggests a strategic shift toward high-growth optical applications beyond traditional lens markets. If drone adoption continues to expand and automotive lens demand recovers in 2027, Calin Technology could see a more balanced growth outlook across both emerging aerial imaging and next-generation vehicle camera systems.
