Apple Vision Pro buyers are expressing regret over purchasing the headset

Buyer’s Regret: Apple Vision Pro Users Struggle with High Costs and Comfort Challenges

The Apple Vision Pro, with its hefty starting price of $3,499, promised to revolutionize wearable technology but has instead left many customers feeling buyer’s remorse. Despite Apple’s efforts to enhance features through updates, the initial poor impressions have cast a long shadow over its reputation.

Users report difficulties not just with the financial investment but also with the device’s functionality. The headset, weighing between 600 to 650 grams, is significantly heavier than competitors, causing discomfort during extended use. This has been a major downside for users like Tovia Goldstein from New York City, who finds the device uncomfortable and limited due to a sparse app ecosystem.

Furthermore, the Vision Pro’s lengthy startup time and the need to wait several minutes after connecting the external battery have added to user frustrations. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously noted that the high price might not be the only hurdle; the device’s limited applications and support were likely to drive up return rates.

The resale market for the Vision Pro is also disappointing. Unlike other Apple products that often retain value, users attempting to resell the headset face significant losses. Anthony Racaniello, a media studio operator from Philadelphia, experienced a 46% loss when reselling his unit, but he doesn’t miss it.

Overall, these issues have contributed to a sentiment of regret among purchasers, overshadowing the potential of future models and improvements.
