Gigabyte Unveils AORUS RTX 5090 AI Box: Powers Laptops Through Blazing-Fast Thunderbolt 5 Port, AIO-Cooled Desktop GPU 1

Blazing Performance: Laptops Featuring Thunderbolt 5 and AIO-Cooled Desktop GPUs

Gigabyte has unveiled its latest innovation in gaming hardware with the AORUS RTX 5090 AI Box, the company’s first external GPU featuring Thunderbolt 5 technology. This advanced eGPU aims to provide desktop-level gaming performance, making it a must-have for enthusiasts.

Presented at Computex, this eGPU stands out with its pre-installed RTX 5090, unlike other docks that require separate graphics card installation. Known as the fastest gaming GPU currently available, the RTX 5090 inside the AORUS AI Box is powered by the robust GB202 chip, boasting an impressive 21,760 CUDA cores. To maintain peak performance without thermal throttling, it employs the WaterForce all-in-one cooling system and is designed with extensive ventilation for optimal airflow.

The integration of a Thunderbolt 5 port offers an 80 Gbps bandwidth for data transfer, ensuring superior performance compared to laptop GPUs. In addition to its primary graphics capabilities, the device supports Power Delivery 3.0, allowing it to power laptops and charge devices. Connectivity is further enhanced with USB4 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 3 ports, alongside three DisplayPorts, an HDMI 2.1b output, and an RJ45 Ethernet port.

Beyond gaming, the AORUS RTX 5090 AI Box is also tailored for AI workloads, delivering up to 3000+ AT TOPS of performance, tripling the capability of previous models like the AI TOP ATOM DGX Spark Box.

While pricing details remain under wraps, estimates suggest a retail release in the range of $3000 to $4000. Keep an eye out as it arrives in stores, offering cutting-edge technology for both gaming and AI applications.
