Gamers are eagerly eyeing the upcoming release of the Nvidia RTX 5080 GPUs, and Best Buy has just added new Gigabyte graphics cards to its roster. Although the store will be offering various models, most of them have a price tag exceeding $999.99. These high-performance GPUs are set to hit the shelves on January 30th, when gamers might finally get their hands on these powerful cards amidst anticipated shortages.
As the excitement builds, Best Buy has listed a range of Gigabyte RTX 5080 graphics cards that promise top-notch performance, thanks to features like overclocking and improved cooling systems. Despite the lack of pre-order options, users can stay ahead by setting up stock alerts right up until the big release day.
Best Buy’s status as a go-to for North American gamers when it comes to new GPU releases is well-known. Its unique in-store pickup option makes it a favorite, contrasting the uncertain availability with online retailers. While there are no long queues outside Best Buy stores just yet, a scene reminiscent of the eager lines outside Micro Center in Tustin, California, could still emerge.
Gigabyte has unveiled at least seven different models of the RTX 5080 so far. The most accessible option is the $999 GeForce RTX 5080 Windforce OC SFF 16G, which offers a more impressive GPU boost clock frequency than Nvidia’s Founders Edition. On the other end, the premium GeForce RTX 5080 Xtreme Waterforce 16G with an efficient AIO liquid cooler is priced at $1399.99.
Other retailers, such as Newegg, are also preparing their listings for Gigabyte, MSI, Asus, PNY, and Zotac models of the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. However, prices for these haven’t been disclosed yet, and custom RTX 5090 GPU pricing remains under wraps.
The GPU market buzz includes concerns about potential stock limitations impacting availability. MSI is among the brands raising alarms about supply levels. Meanwhile, scalpers seem poised to capitalize on the hype, possibly inflating prices for the highly coveted RTX 50 series further. Overclocked Gigabyte RTX 5080 models may also see significant price hikes, as the rush to secure these top-tier GPUs intensifies.
