Timex and Beams Boy are turning heads with a playful new twist on a classic field watch: a ring watch you can actually wear on your finger. Designed to mark a major milestone for Japanese fashion retail, the Timex x Beams Boy Ring Watch is set to arrive in April as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the first Beams store in Harajuku, Japan.
What makes this release especially interesting is how it reworks the familiar Timex Camper style into a compact, jewelry-like form. Instead of a traditional strap, the watch is built in stainless steel and uses individual bracelet elements connected by a stretchy band. The result is a flexible fit that should work well for people who typically wear rings in US sizes 9 through 15.
That stretch design is also the watch’s main limitation. Because the bracelet links aren’t removable, there’s no way to size it down for smaller fingers. In other words, if you need something below US size 9, it likely won’t sit securely enough to be comfortable for everyday wear.
Pricing and availability are straightforward for buyers in Japan. The Timex x Beams Boy Ring Watch launches April 3 with a retail price of 19,140 yen (around $120). There’s no confirmed international release yet, but fans outside Japan may still be able to get one through direct import services.
