Backfire Boards Set to Unveil Groundbreaking NALU Electric Skateboard Campaign

Backfire Boards is about to make waves with its new NALU e-skateboard, set to launch on Kickstarter soon. With inspiration drawn from surfing, the NALU aims to change the game for urban electric vehicle commuters by offering a compact, portable alternative to traditional longboard-style e-skateboards.

The NALU e-skateboard is designed to deliver a smooth experience reminiscent of surfing and snowboarding. It features hidden dual hub motors, which promise agility and responsiveness, mimicking the fluid motion of surfing. The fiberglass and maple deck has a “Surf-Skate” concave shape, enhancing the board’s surfing-like feel. Custom trucks and 80 mm PU wheels enable a maximum turning radius of 60 degrees, perfect for tight maneuvers in urban environments.

Catering to riders of all skill levels, the NALU offers four distinct ride modes. Eco mode limits the speed to 6 mph, making it ideal for beginners. Sport mode ups the ante to 12 mph, while Turbo mode lets thrill-seekers reach the board’s top speed of 16 mph. For those who prefer a steady pace, Cruise mode is also available. All modes are conveniently controlled via an included remote, which also operates an LED light strip ringing the board’s edge. This feature allows riders to change the color of their board, adding a personalized touch to their ride.

Powering the NALU is a 99 Wh airline-safe battery, providing an estimated range of 12.5 miles. The inclusion of GaN fast charging technology ensures that riders spend less time waiting and more time riding. Other practical features include a lightweight design at just 12.5 lbs and anti-collision pads to protect the LED light strip from damage.

As the Kickstarter campaign prepares to launch at the end of September, eager riders can already reserve their NALU on Backfire Boards’ official site. Combining performance, portability, and style, the NALU e-skateboard is set to be a popular choice for urban commuters and boarding enthusiasts alike.
