Ayaneo is expanding the color lineup for its Konkr Pocket Advance handheld with a new limited-edition finish designed to appeal to retro gaming fans. The latest option, called Onyx Ice or Ice Black, brings a translucent black look that feels heavily inspired by classic handheld consoles from the early 2000s.
The Konkr Pocket Advance first arrived in Coral, Navy, and Grey, followed shortly after by a fourth Peach color. Now, after receiving requests from fans for more nostalgic color choices, Ayaneo has introduced this fifth version as a special limited release.
The new Onyx Ice model stands out with its clear black shell, giving players a glimpse of the retro-inspired design language beneath the surface. Its appearance closely matches the style of older special-edition handhelds that used smoky transparent plastic, a design trend that continues to be popular among collectors and gaming enthusiasts.
However, this limited-edition color comes at a higher price than the standard versions. The Ayaneo Konkr Pocket Advance Onyx Ice Limited Edition starts at $109 during the pre-order period for the model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The higher-end version, featuring 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, is priced at $129 for early buyers.
After the pre-order window closes, prices will increase. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model will rise to $129, while the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version will cost $149 at retail.
Availability will also be limited. Ayaneo says only 500 units of the Onyx Ice Limited Edition will be offered for the overseas market, making it a more exclusive option for buyers who want something different from the standard color lineup. Shipping is expected to begin at the end of October 2026, meaning customers interested in this version will need to wait longer than those choosing the regular colors.
The Konkr Pocket Advance is part of Ayaneo’s growing push into compact gaming handhelds, a market that continues to attract attention from players looking for portable devices with a retro feel. With its Game Boy Advance-style design cues and multiple color options, the device appears aimed at users who want a pocket-friendly gaming system with modern hardware and classic handheld charm.
Ayaneo also provided a brief update on another upcoming device, the Konkr Pocket Block. This vertical handheld was first revealed in late May and was originally expected to arrive before the Konkr Pocket Advance. While that launch timeline has shifted, the company says the device is still in development and more information will be shared later.
For now, the Onyx Ice Limited Edition gives the Konkr Pocket Advance lineup a more collectible option. Its transparent black shell, limited availability, and nostalgic design could make it one of the most sought-after versions of Ayaneo’s latest handheld.
