AYANEO Unveils Radeon RX 7600M XT Graphics Dock Featuring 120W Turbo Dial and OCuLink for $599 Launch

The AYANEO Starship dock is set to hit the market at the end of November, offering tech enthusiasts an intriguing blend of graphics expansion and port versatility. While not just a simple graphics card, this dock embodies AYANEO’s innovative approach, particularly evident in their Remake series, which debuted earlier this year. Classic aesthetics meet modern performance in products like their retro mini-PCs and gaming handhelds, but the spotlight now turns to their latest creation, the Starship Graphics Dock.

Built around the Radeon RX 7600M XT, a mobile RDNA3 GPU, the dock promises a graphics boost for devices relying solely on integrated graphics. This GPU packs 32 RDNA3 Compute Units supported by 8GB of GDDR6 memory. Though its 128-bit memory interface might seem modest compared to newer models like the RX 7800M, it still significantly enhances performance, potentially doubling the capabilities of graphics-reliant setups.

A standout feature is the “Turbo” knob, allowing users to fine-tune the power output from 100W to 120W, providing flexibility according to the demand. But the Starship Graphics Dock isn’t just about graphics; it’s also a robust expansion unit for your device. Housing an M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 SSD interface for additional storage, alongside an RJ45 port supporting up to 1000 Mbps, a USB4 40 Gbps connector, a USB 3.1 Gen2 port, and an SD card slot, it covers all basic connectivity needs.

It’s crucial to note, however, that these features are accessible only through USB connections—not OCuLink, which is reserved for PCIe 4.0×4 at 64 Gbps. Consequently, users may find themselves choosing between maximizing GPU performance or leveraging the dock’s full array of ports.

Scheduled for release at a price of $599, the Starship Graphics Dock offers an enticing option for those looking to bolster their device’s capabilities. Yet, as the RDNA3 series approaches its two-year mark, potential buyers should consider that advancements in this technology may arrive by 2025. Nevertheless, the current offering stands as a solid addition to AYANEO’s innovative lineup.
