AYANEO Unveils NEXT 2 Early-Bird Deal: Gaming Handheld Launches at $1,799 for 32GB RAM and 1TB Storage

AYANEO has officially revealed full specs and pricing for its NEXT 2, a new Windows gaming handheld the company has been teasing as its most powerful model yet. First announced last year, the device took its time moving from teaser to reality, but it’s now live through an Indiegogo campaign with multiple configurations and limited Early Bird pricing.

A major highlight is the extra-large 9.06-inch OLED display, positioning the NEXT 2 among the biggest-screen Windows handheld gaming PCs. The panel also targets serious smoothness with a refresh rate up to 165Hz. AYANEO is pairing that big OLED with an uncommon 2400 x 1504 resolution, aiming for sharper, more vivid visuals than many handheld rivals—though it also means the hardware has to work harder to hit very high frame rates in demanding modern games.

Under the hood, buyers can choose between two AMD Ryzen AI Max processors. The entry configuration uses the Ryzen AI Max 385 (12 cores / 24 threads) paired with Radeon 8050S integrated graphics. For those chasing higher gaming performance, AYANEO offers the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, a Zen 5 chip with an 8-core / 16-thread layout and RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 8060S graphics. With 40 compute units, the 8060S is built for modern titles, but driving newer AAA games at 1504p while staying above 100 FPS consistently could still be a challenge, depending on settings and optimization.

Memory and storage options are clearly aimed at enthusiasts. The NEXT 2 comes in 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB LPDDR5X onboard memory configurations, clocked up to 8533 MT/s. Storage choices include 1TB or 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0.

Powering it all is a massive 116Wh battery—capacity you often associate more with gaming laptops than handhelds. That should translate into longer sessions away from the charger, but there’s a tradeoff: the NEXT 2 is heavy, with weight listed at about 1,426 grams (nearly 1.5 kg), making it a more substantial handheld to carry and use for extended periods.

Here’s how the Early Bird and regular pricing breaks down for the announced configurations:

Ryzen AI Max 385, 32GB RAM + 2TB storage: $1,799 Early Bird, $1,999 regular
Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 64GB RAM + 2TB storage: $2,299 Early Bird, $2,699 regular
Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 128GB RAM + 2TB storage: $3,499 Early Bird, $4,299 regular

With its oversized high-refresh OLED display, premium AMD Ryzen AI Max options, and laptop-class battery capacity, the AYANEO NEXT 2 is clearly positioned as a no-compromise Windows handheld gaming PC—especially for buyers who want top-tier specs and are willing to accept the premium price and extra weight that come with it.
