Ayaneo has officially pulled the curtain back on its latest themed handheld: the Pocket Air Mini × B.Duck Limited Edition. Arriving shortly after details surfaced online, this special release puts a playful, retro twist on Ayaneo’s entry-level Pocket Air Mini design, timed to celebrate the Spring Festival season tied to the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse.
The collaboration centers on B.Duck, a well-known character brand from Hong Kong under Semk International. Recognizable for its bright yellow duck mascot and extensive licensing presence across Asia, B.Duck’s upbeat look is a natural match for a compact gaming device built for quick pick-up-and-play sessions.
At its core, the Pocket Air Mini × B.Duck Limited Edition keeps the same fundamentals as the standard model. You still get a 4.2-inch high-resolution display in a 4:3 aspect ratio, a form factor that suits retro-style games especially well. The handheld also retains the compact chassis and familiar control layout that make the Pocket Air Mini easy to carry and comfortable for classic gaming.
Where this limited edition stands out is the design. Ayaneo has dressed the handheld in a bold yellow exterior, highlighted by a vibrant B.Duck motif on the back. The look is finished off with themed patterns and a gradient-style treatment, giving it a more collectible, character-driven identity than the regular version. Ayaneo says the brighter design is meant to bring a sense of fun and lightheartedness to the overall handheld gaming experience.
On the performance side, Ayaneo equips this model with a MediaTek MTK octa-core G90T processor and a 4500 mAh battery. Control hardware is also a key selling point: Hall-effect joysticks and Hall triggers are included to improve precision and help reduce issues associated with mechanical wear over time. For longer or more demanding sessions, there’s an active cooling system with a built-in fan to help manage heat.
One earlier report suggested the device may come with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, but those specifications have not been confirmed in the official announcement.
Ayaneo is also emphasizing its self-developed Android software ecosystem as part of the package, positioning the handheld as more than just hardware. Pricing and a release timeline haven’t been shared yet, but the company says additional details will be announced during an upcoming Product Sharing Session.
