Asus ProArt Creation 16 Debuts as a Powerful MacBook Pro Alternative With Ryzen AI 9 and RTX 5070
Asus has introduced a new ProArt Creation 16 configuration in China, aimed squarely at creators, designers, video editors, and professionals who want a premium Windows laptop with serious graphics power. The new 16-inch model pairs AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, making it a strong option for users who need more than just everyday productivity performance.
The latest ProArt Creation 16 continues Asus’ push into high-end creator laptops, combining a slim metal body, a vivid OLED display, and workstation-style hardware in a portable design. At just 14.9 mm thick and weighing 1.8 kg, it is relatively slim for a laptop carrying dedicated Nvidia graphics.
One of the biggest highlights is the 16-inch OLED display. Asus has equipped the laptop with a 2.8K panel that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for smooth scrolling, detailed visual work, and entertainment. The screen can reach up to 1,100 nits of brightness, which should help with HDR content and visibility in brighter environments. For creators who rely on color-rich displays, this OLED panel is likely to be one of the device’s main selling points.
Inside, the ProArt Creation 16 comes with 64 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 2 TB SSD. Storage expansion is supported through two M.2 slots, giving users more flexibility if they need additional capacity for video projects, design files, 3D assets, or large media libraries.
The AMD Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor features 10 cores and 20 threads, with boost speeds of up to 4.9 GHz. It is part of AMD’s newer Ryzen AI 400 Series family and is designed for modern workloads that combine CPU performance with AI acceleration. To keep the system cool, Asus uses a thermal setup with three fans and four heat pipes.
Compared with Apple’s latest high-end laptop chips, the Ryzen AI 9 H 465 may not lead in every CPU-focused benchmark. However, the ProArt Creation 16 has a major advantage in graphics performance thanks to its dedicated Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. While Apple’s comparable MacBook Pro models rely on integrated graphics, Asus gives creators a standalone GPU that can better handle demanding tasks such as 3D rendering, GPU-accelerated video editing, AI-assisted creative tools, and complex visual effects.
That makes the ProArt Creation 16 especially appealing for users who work with software that benefits from Nvidia’s CUDA support or dedicated RTX features. For video editors, animators, architects, digital artists, and content creators, the RTX 5070 could be the deciding factor.
Connectivity is also broad. The laptop includes HDMI 2.1, USB4, two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and an SD card reader. The left side houses HDMI 2.1, USB4, one USB-A port, and the audio jack, while the remaining ports and card reader sit on the right side. The inclusion of an SD card reader is especially useful for photographers and videographers who regularly transfer media from cameras.
The new Asus ProArt Creation 16 configuration is currently listed in China at CNY 22,999, which is roughly $3,420. Asus has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for other regions.
