Asus is giving its compact flagship keyboard a serious performance upgrade. The new ROG Azoth 96 HE swaps traditional mechanical switches for magnetic Hall effect technology, unlocking ultra-precise control and faster input response for gaming and typing alike.
At the heart of the refresh are ROG HFX V2 switches, the same magnetic switches used in the brand’s Falcata split keyboard. Paired with ROG Hall sensors, they let you customize the actuation point anywhere from 0.1 mm to 3.5 mm, with ultra-fine 0.01 mm step adjustments. Whether you want a hair-trigger press for competitive shooters or a deeper actuation for accuracy in typing, the Azoth 96 HE adapts to your style.
Advanced features like Rapid Trigger and Speed Tap push responsiveness even further. These input optimizations minimize the distance needed for repeated keypresses and quick keystroke changes, giving players a snappier, more controllable feel during fast-paced gameplay.
Build quality and acoustics get premium attention too. The keyboard uses a silicone gasket mount to soften impacts and improve overall sound. Long keys, including the space bar, ship with pre-lubed stabilizers to reduce rattle. Inside, six layers of dampening materials, including Poron and IXPE, help tame hollowness and deliver a deeper, more refined sound profile. Capping it all off is a metal top frame that adds rigidity and a high-end finish.
Asus hasn’t shared release timing or pricing yet. For context, the original Azoth launched at $250 in a smaller 75% layout without Hall effect switches, so expect the Azoth 96 HE to sit on the higher end of the price spectrum given the upgraded switch tech, added dampening, and more substantial build.
