With the evolution of computing preferences geared towards efficiency and space-saving designs, ASUS has introduced a fresh lineup of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs specifically designed for small form factor (SFF) PCs, aligning with NVIDIA’s “SFF-Ready Enthusiast” program guidelines.
The unveiling took place during the recent Computex event, where NVIDIA emphasized the importance of compact builds, particularly in the enthusiast gaming sector. Due to previous hurdles such as size constraints and inadequate support from component manufacturers, building such compact systems was challenging.
To bridge this gap, NVIDIA created guidelines for its partner manufacturers to ensure better synergy within the small form factor ecosystem. ASUS, as a prominent hardware manufacturer, has answered the call by introducing several models, including the Prime GeForce RTx 4070 SUPER, RTx 4070, and RTx 4060 Ti. Designed to fit neatly into space-conscious setups, these GPUs boast a 2.5-slot design, measuring just 50mm in thickness and 269mm in length.
The Prime series cards from ASUS don’t just focus on compact size. They also offer notable features such as a triple-fan configuration within the limited space, ensuring efficient heat expulsion through a vented backplate design. Furthermore, the GPUs are equipped with 0db technology for silent operation under light loads, making them suitable for quiet professional environments.
In terms of aesthetics, the Prime GPUs adopt a simple yet elegant black-and-white color scheme, complemented by a subtle touch of Red RGB lighting. While they might forgo excessive flashiness, they maintain a sleek look that can seamlessly integrate into various build aesthetics.
Beyond just GPUs, ASUS is committed to supporting the SFF community with complementary components. This includes dedicated ASUS Prime motherboards, exemplified by the X670E-Pro WiFi, which align with the small form factor philosophy. Additionally, ASUS has introduced the Prime AP201 chassis, a versatile micro-ATX casing with an option for either tempered glass or a mesh panel for enhanced airflow.
