ASUS ROG Gjallar Gaming Soundbar Arrives in the US With Dolby Atmos and a Wireless Subwoofer
ASUS has officially brought the ROG Gjallar to the US, marking the first gaming soundbar released under the Republic of Gamers brand. Priced at $600, this premium audio system is aimed at players who want a cleaner desk setup, powerful sound, and built-in voice chat features without relying on a headset.
The ROG Gjallar is designed for immersive gaming, especially competitive and multiplayer titles where directional audio and clear communication can make a real difference. Inspired by the legendary horn from Norse mythology, the soundbar supports Dolby Atmos to create a more spacious, three-dimensional soundstage for games, movies, and music.
Inside the system are four 50mm drivers and two 27mm tweeters, paired with a 6.5-inch 65W wireless subwoofer. The subwoofer connects through a dedicated 5GHz wireless link, which ASUS says helps reduce audio delay while delivering deep bass for explosions, engine sounds, cinematic effects, and music playback.
One of the standout features is the included all-in-one audio control hub. Instead of requiring a headset for team chat, the hub comes with built-in echo-cancelling microphones. ASUS says the system can filter out game audio and reduce background noise, helping teammates hear your voice more clearly during online matches.
The control hub also includes an LCD display, giving users quick access to volume settings, playback controls, input selection, and EQ profiles. This makes it easier to adjust audio settings on the fly without digging through software menus during gameplay.
Connectivity is another strong point for the ROG Gjallar. It includes USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical input, 3.5mm AUX, and Bluetooth 5.3. ASUS has also added two USB Type-A ports, which can be used for wireless dongles or other gaming accessories.
The soundbar is built to work with a wide range of devices, including gaming PCs, Macs, PlayStation consoles, Xbox systems, Nintendo Switch, smartphones, tablets, and standard TVs.
