ASRock Phantom Gaming monitors, models PG27FFS2E, PG27FFS2E-W, and PG27FFS1A, are shown with features like 'IPS,' '240Hz Fast Refresh Rate,' 'FHD 1920x1080,' 'AMD FreeSync Premium,' and '99% sRGB'.

ASRock Unveils Phantom Gaming IPS Monitors Built for Comfort, Delivering Smooth Gameplay Up to 240Hz

ASRock is expanding its gaming monitor lineup with several new IPS displays aimed at players who want fast performance without paying premium prices. The latest releases include two Phantom Gaming monitors built for competitive play, plus two additional Challenger-series models that target a more everyday high-refresh experience.

Leading the new Phantom Gaming lineup are the PG27FFS2E and PG27FFS2E/W, alongside the PG27FFS1A. These monitors are designed around the same core display performance, giving buyers a choice between a fully adjustable stand or a simpler, more style-focused setup. All of them feature a modern four-sided slim bezel design that helps the screen feel more immersive, whether you’re gaming, watching videos, or running a multi-monitor workstation.

The PG27FFS2E stands out for its highly ergonomic stand, and it’s available in both black and white (with the white version labeled PG27FFS2E/W). It supports height adjustment from 0 to 130mm, 360-degree swivel, tilt from -5 to +20 degrees, and full pivot from -90 to +90 degrees. That range of motion makes it easier to dial in the right viewing angle for long sessions, competitive shooters, or a rotated vertical setup for productivity.

If you don’t need the full ergonomic feature set, the PG27FFS1A offers the same display specifications but comes with a more basic stand. It still supports tilt and swivel adjustments, and it includes a cable-routing hole to help keep your desk cleaner. The stand design also leans more toward a sleek, stylish look.

Across the board, these Phantom Gaming monitors use a 27-inch flat IPS panel with a 1920×1080 (Full HD) resolution. The highlight is speed: up to a 240Hz refresh rate for fluid motion and a 1ms MPRT response time aimed at reducing perceived blur during fast gameplay. For gamers focused on competitive performance, this combination is tailored for smoother tracking and more responsive-feeling visuals.

To further enhance gameplay smoothness, the monitors include AMD FreeSync Premium for tear-free gaming. Color and brightness specs are more practical than premium—covering 99% of the sRGB color gamut, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and up to 350 nits of brightness—making these monitors more about high refresh and responsiveness than HDR-class contrast.

A notable usability feature is the built-in 5-way joystick on the back, designed to make on-screen display navigation quicker and more intuitive than traditional button controls. Through the OSD, users can switch display modes and manage gaming-focused options like Dark Boost, Overdrive, and toggling FreeSync settings.

ASRock is also updating its Challenger monitor series with two new IPS models: the CL27FFB and the CL25FFB. These come in 27-inch and 25-inch sizes, respectively, and top out at a 144Hz refresh rate. While they don’t reach the 240Hz ceiling of the Phantom Gaming versions, much of the overall feature set and general specification approach remains similar, positioning them as solid options for smooth everyday gaming at a more modest refresh target.

For now, ASRock hasn’t shared official pricing or availability details for any of the newly announced monitors, but the specifications suggest the company is continuing to focus on value-friendly esports and high-refresh gaming displays for a wide range of players.
