Arknights: Endfield “Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” Update Arrives June 5 With New Region, Characters, and Endgame Mode
Publisher GRYPHLINE and developer Mountain Contour have announced that Arknights: Endfield will receive a major new content update titled “Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” on June 5. The update will be available across all supported platforms and brings a fresh story campaign, a new explorable region, two playable characters, a challenging endgame mode, and several quality-of-life improvements aimed at making the experience smoother and more rewarding.
The update expands the world of Talos-II with the reappearance of Sword Vault Dale, a long-lost ruin filled with broken walls, floating cliffs, and hidden secrets. Players will explore this mysterious location alongside the Wuling Watch as they investigate the truth behind the Lost Heirlooms. With new lore, environmental storytelling, and campaign missions, “Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” is set to deepen the game’s worldbuilding while giving players a new frontier to conquer.
Game Producer Light Zhong said the team remains focused on continuous polish and optimization, emphasizing that meaningful improvements are best shown through action. The update reflects that approach, combining new gameplay content with requested system upgrades designed to improve the daily experience for players.
Two new playable characters will join Arknights: Endfield as part of the update.
Mi Fu will be available when “Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” launches on June 5. She plays a central role in the new storyline as the captain of the Wuling Watch, facing a personal revenge-driven conflict against her former masters in the “A Fistful of Reflections” narrative event. In combat, Mi Fu is a fast and aggressive Physical Guard built around mobility and continuous pressure. She can perform up to four basic attacks in sequence and chain her Battle Skills and Ultimate together for uninterrupted high-damage combos.
Camille will arrive later during the update. As a Keeper for Seš’qa, he is tasked with investigating internal criminal cases. His standalone event, “Danse Macabre,” follows a dark criminal investigation triggered by the discovery of an anonymous blood sample. On the battlefield, Camille serves as a Heat Vanguard who supports the squad by speeding up skill rotations and enabling combo attack effects, making him a valuable addition for players who enjoy tactical team synergy.
The update also introduces Contingency Contract, a highly customizable challenge mode known across the wider Arknights universe. This mode is designed as a demanding endgame activity where players control the difficulty through modifiers called Test Criterion and Key Criteria. These conditions can add both advantages and disadvantages, forcing players to rethink strategies, adjust team compositions, and adapt to changing battlefield rules.
Rather than relying only on raw power, Contingency Contract rewards careful planning and tactical flexibility. For players looking for a serious challenge in Arknights: Endfield, this mode could become one of the update’s biggest highlights.
“Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” also brings a wide range of quality-of-life and gameplay improvements. Industrial automation is being improved with a new Backup Power feature to help prevent factory blackouts. An automated blockage-handling system for multiple recipes is also being added, reducing the frustration of factory management and making production more efficient.
Progression and inventory systems are also being streamlined. New features include Bulk Artificing for gear, Weapon Batch Dismantling, improved Lock Management, and a “Perfect Match” label for essence farming. These additions are designed to reduce time spent navigating menus and give players faster access to the upgrades and materials they need.
Interface improvements are also part of the update. Players can expect clearer off-screen enemy attack warnings, smoother switching between controller and keyboard-and-mouse controls across menus, and a revamped Daily Task system built for quicker completion.
With a new region, expanded story content, fresh playable characters, a hardcore challenge mode, and major system improvements, Arknights: Endfield “Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” looks like a substantial update for both returning players and newcomers. The update launches on June 5 for Windows PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android.
