Dexcom is expanding its Direct to Watch feature to users in additional countries. This tool enables users of the Dexcom G7 continuous glucose monitoring system to view their blood sugar measurements directly on their Apple Watch. Initially launched earlier this year in the United States, the feature is now available in 14 countries, including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The Direct to Watch feature allows G7 users to monitor glucose levels in real-time on their Apple Watch without needing to carry their phone, which is especially useful during physical activities. Users will also receive alerts for abnormal readings on their watch. The feature connects via Bluetooth to compatible Apple Watch models from Series 6 onwards, as well as other smartphones and tablets from brands like Apple, Google, and Samsung. The Dexcom G7 can connect to up to three devices simultaneously, including an Apple Watch, phone, and Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) system.
To link the Dexcom G7 to an Apple Watch, users can navigate through the Dexcom G7 app by going to Connections > Direct to Watch.
